LockScreen Notification Tweaks Apple has tweaked the appearence of iOS 5 notifications that appear on the lockscreen of iOS devices in Beta 2. Unlike the previous beta, the new single notification now appears as a bubble on the lockscreen, and as new notification arrives, the previous ones dissappear and are replaced by the new one. After a few moments of the arrival of the new notification, all the previous notifications appear again on the lockscreen. Wi-Fi Sync Scott Forstall announced this feature on stage, but it was not included in the first beta of iOS 5, but in second beta Apple has finally added much awaited Wi-Fi Sync feature for iOS devices. It is currently only available for Mac users in iOS 5 beta 2. iCloud Logo Replacing the pinkish iCloud logo, iOS 5 beta 2 brings the official Silver iCloud logo to iOS’s settings.app. Nothing else to talk about there… OTA updates over 3G According to a post by 9to5Mac, Over-The-Air updates over 3G network are now supported in the iOS 5 Beta 2 SDK, but with a catch i.e Apple might give users minor point updates OTA while the large one’s will be delivered via Wi-Fi or iTunes only. For example Apple might allow iOS version 5.1.1 to be downloaded over 3G network but iOS 6 has to downloaded over Wi-Fi. Keeping in mind that future iOS updates are going to be ‘Delta updates’ that do not require user to download the whole operating system when an update is released, this seems possible. Receding Keyboard in iMessage AppleInsider points out that in iOS 5 beta 2, the keyboard in the iMessage.app recedes downwords when user scrolls down in message history. This is a little animation that Apple might be testing to implement in other apps as well.
Jailbreak and unlock
Another thing worth mentioning here is that according to famed jailbreaker and iPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd, Apple has closed Gevey interposer hole in this beta release instead of waiting for the final release of iOS 5.
