Not only can you take some very nice stills in 2D, like Android Central forums member zmann's flower garden above, but there's that nifty little thing called 3D to play around with. We've got a place for you to share your pictures, novice or pro, and in 2D or 3D right in the EVO 3D forums. Now grab your EVO 3D, snap some pics, and share with the class -- we all wanna see them. | Samsung slider spied running Android, headed to Verizon? Posted: 27 Jun 2011 02:10 PM PDT If you've found yourself asking "When, oh when, will Samsung release an Android slider for Verizon?" then you may be in luck. Realistically, I'm sure no one has ever asked that but that doesn't matter because it looks as though Samsung might make it happen with the SCH-i405, as spied in the image above. Although specs are seemingly slim pickings for this device as of yet, it has crossed the paths of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification experts but has not hit the FCC. The details available peg this one as being a mid-range device similar in styling to that of the Epic 4G from Sprint minus the 4G but coming with a WVGA display and a single core processor capable of one - yes, singular gigahertz. Sidenote: That's a Slacker Radio icon you're seeing -- not CyanogenMod. Sorry to disappoint. Source: PocketNow

| Gingerbread RUU for the DROID Incredible 2 leaks Posted: 27 Jun 2011 01:01 PM PDT
Now that S-OFF can be obtained on the Droid Incredible 2 we've started to see some custom ROMs pop up for the device and developers have been hard at work in an effort to make everyone happy by working on root solutions and now -- a leaked build of Gingerbread has appeared. The full RUU has been leaked for all non-rooted users courtesy of Football but if you at some point want to root then you'll want to stay very far away from this considering you'll be killing off the only known root method for the Droid Incredible 2. That said, if you care none about obtaining root then you can go right ahead and proceed with the installation. The other option here is to hold out and wait until the AlphaRevX team releases their root method for the Droid Incredible 2 at which point, you'll then be able to install a pre-rooted version of Gingerbread based off of the RUU using AlphaRevX and ClockworkMod recovery. The choice really is up to you as a user but our personal suggestion is to just hold out and wait until the root method becomes available and then go from there. | Google and Taiwanese government at odds over Android Market refund window Posted: 27 Jun 2011 12:11 PM PDT Google has suspended paid applications for users in Taiwan, as a result of a NT$1 million (US$345,500) fine for failing to offer Taiwanese consumers a seven-day free-trial. While Google sticks to their strict 15 minute return window, the laws of Taiwan state that all goods purchased over the Internet come with a free trial period of at least seven days because consumers cannot feel or touch the goods before purchase. Until recently, appstores were not specifically included under this law, because application purchasing in Taiwan is a very recent trend. On June 4, the Taiwanese government gave both Google and Apple 15 days to comply with this law. Apple complied, Google didn't. But in the end, this will only be a temporary set-back, as Google is sending company officials to Taipei on Thursday to continue talks over the matter -- a move that may likely cost Google even more penalties. Governments and giant corporations have money to burn, but most consumers do not -- so let's hope a working solution can be found soon. Source: Taipei Times via: Android Police

| Chinese search giant Baidu developing their own flavor of Android? Posted: 27 Jun 2011 11:31 AM PDT According to the Chinese site TechWeb, the Chinese search company Baidu is developing their own version of Android called "Qiushi", and it will be launched before the end of 2011. Baidu neither confirms or denies these rumors, saying only that Qiushi is simply a way to offer mobile advertising. China is a huge market, one that everyone wants to get a strong foothold in. They also already have two Android variants being sold on mobile devices -- MIUI (yes, the same MIUI that's familiar to many an Android hacker) and DianxinOS. This could be something a bit different, as you have the name (and the capital) of a highly successful tech corporation behind the development and distribution. | HTC Thunderbolt case review: Case-Mate Barely There case Posted: 27 Jun 2011 10:24 AM PDT Case-Mate has a pretty good reputation for making solid, affordable smartphone cases, and its Barely There case for the HTC Thunderbolt is no exception. It offers protection from scratches, dings, and other miscellaneous boo-boos in a slim, stylish form factor. The Barely There case lives up to its name-- covering only the back and corners of the Thunderbolt, the case is noticeably skimpier than the competition. This isn't necessarily a bad thing: Barely There looks great, and adds almost no distinguishable heft or girth to the smartphone. I love how simple it is to apply and to remove the case-- there's no voodoo here, and you're not going to kill yourself trying to pry this thing off. This simplicity comes with a downside, though, as one solid drop to the floor will send the Barely There case flying off your phone. If you're a true klutz, look elsewhere. If you're looking for some added style for your Thunderbolt and aren't worried about maximum protection, the Barely There case is a slim, lightweight, and durable choice. | Android 3.1 update for Acer Iconia Tab A500 leaks out Posted: 27 Jun 2011 09:01 AM PDT If you're the proud owner of an Acer Iconia Tab A500 then you're no doubt waiting for Android 3.1 to be rolled out -- which should be coming in July. However, if you're a risk taker you can grab the recently leaked version of Android 3.1 for the Iconia Tab and take it for a spin. The reports thus far state that the leak is leaps and bounds better then version it shipped with but like all things, your mileage will vary. | Gingerbread for the Samsung Droid Charge appears on video Posted: 27 Jun 2011 08:16 AM PDT
Things have been pretty quiet on the update front for Samsung Droid Charge owners as of late, unlike the HTC Thunderbolt there hasn't been any leaked radio files, no leaked Gingerbread builds or anything of that nature. That is until the latest video from p3droid popped up -- yes, what you see running above in that video is Gingerbread along with Netflix up and running on a Samsung Droid Charge. We still don't have any dates for such a version to be released but boy; it sure is pretty to look at. Source: MyDroidWorld
