Christopher Hitchens died Thursday in Houston. He was 62. The legendary writer was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2010.

I had dinner with Christopher in Houston a few weeks ago. I suppose he must have known he was dying and this was probably the last time we'd see each other, but there was no sentimentality or whining.
