Intel's liquid CPU cooler: Is water worth the cost?

Intel has launched its own closed-loop liquid cooler for
its hottest Sandy Bridge-E processors -- but how does it
compare against the competition, and is it even worth

Inside DreamHack, the 12,000-computer LAN party

Last weekend, over 12,000 LAN party goers turned up at
DreamHack Winter 2011 in Jonkoping, Sweden with a PC
under the arm, on their back, or packed carefully in the
trunk of their car. Where do they sleep? How crazy is the
network's cabling? Here's what the four-day computer

Carrier IQ is the best reason yet to switch to the
iPhone

Carrier IQ, the "sanctioned" key logger that can be
found on almost every Android, BlackBerry, and Nokia
phone, has taken taken a lot of heat in recent weeks,
and rightly so -- but it's not the root of the problem.
Carriers like AT&T are the issue.

Ubuntu: Wake up and smell the Unity against you

In the past few months, Ubuntu has seen some serious
drops in popularity. It can be said that Linux
distributions rise and fall as something new becomes
the latest and greatest, but this seems to be sudden

Tens of millions of HP LaserJet printers vulnerable to
remote hacking

It seems that researchers from Columbia University have
found a security hole in "tens of millions" of HP LaserJet
printers that allows a remote hacker to install new and
dangerous firmware on the device. In one example, the
researchers used the vulnerability to hack a printer's
fuser, causing the paper to turn brown and begin to smoke.
