Some "Saturday Night Live" hosts walk through the door with so much gravitas and chutzpah, that the job of the writers is to simply give them a premise and some scenery to chew and let them take it from there. Think Christopher Walken needing more cowbell.

On Saturday, Melissa McCarthy proved she had the fearlessness to make every scene she was in memorable. From sexually harassing Jason Sudeikis within an inch of his life, to repeatedly falling down the stairs as the Mae West-inspired Lulu Diamonds, McCarthy had the entire studio audience -- and probably most of America -- gasping for breath.
