Verizon users -- are you getting the Galaxy Nexus? [from the forums]

Posted: 22 Oct 2011 02:37 PM PDT

Galaxy Nexus

A Nexus phone on the Verizon network is a pretty big deal.  Plenty of people never thought it would happen (guilty), as Verizon has the muscle to have a bit more control over their network than most, and the Galaxy Nexus may take a bit of that away.  We're all happy to be mistaken about it though, trust me.  You guys deserve this phone, and have been waiting for this phone since the day everyone realized that Verizon wouldn't be carrying the Nexus One after all.

So now that it's official, how many of you are going to storm the gates and grab one ASAP?  There's other options of course -- the Motorola RAZR looks like a hell of a phone in it's own right, and HTC's Rezound will turn a lot of heads with it's sexy look.  And heaven only knows what's coming around the corner.  We couldn't make an easy decision ourselves in this case.

It's a lot to think about.  It's also an interesting metric, and we all love interesting metrics.  Take a minute, hit the forums, and tell the world what you plan on doing once the GNex hits the shelves.

I'm interested in knowing how well it plays versus that of Flick Golf which I loved.

Motorola Droid RAZR in Verizon systems, reminds us that it will be awesome

Posted: 22 Oct 2011 11:04 AM PDT

Droid RAZR

With all the Galaxy Nexus talk, it's easy to forget that the Motorola Droid RAZR (check out our hands-on) will go up for pre-orders in just a few days.  Verizon hasn't forgotten, and the RAZR is sitting pretty in the equipment infocenter so that everyone at Big Red can be ready to answer your questions about this new Motobeast.  With great specs (dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, Gorilla Glass and Super AMOLED up front while Kevlar adorns the back), and a sleek thin profile, this is the Android phone to get for many of you.  I couldn't blame ya -- it's gorgeous, and it's coming soon.

Will my tablet get Ice Cream Sandwich? Our predictions

Posted: 22 Oct 2011 08:24 AM PDT

Tablets and ICS

Android is more than smartphones.  With the release of the original 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, Android has moved into the big screen arena, and it's slowly picking up steam.  There are some very nice bits of hardware out there running Android and we all are getting antsy about when the one we're using might see some Ice Cream Sandwich love.

That's where we come into play.  We are surrounded by phones and tablets, and we're going to use a little bit of insight to make a prediction or two about when we'll be seeing OS updates for them.  Hit the break, and read along.

Who doesn't love classic game creations done right? The folks at Neon Play have brought us Paper Glider Crazy Copter 3D and they have done it with some serious style. The game offers a 3D game play with a rear camera view as you fly through explosions, avoiding electrical lines, flames and plenty of other random obstacles. Each level is timed in the upper right hand corner as you fly through 60 different levels of game play, and you can chose between 12 different copters to fly with. Enough discussing, start downloading now and get to playing. Download links after the break.

Verizon Nexapoclypse continues: Galaxy Nexus and Rezound on Nov 10 still looking good

Posted: 21 Oct 2011 06:00 PM PDT

Verizon

Is anyone tired of seeing the words "Galaxy Nexus on Verizon" yet?  I didn't think so.  We said it was coming.  We now know it's coming.  And here's even more reason to believe that it's coming November 10, just like we heard it would before

While things are always subject to change, the screen you see above should make more than a few happy.  Of course Verizon's still mum on an official date, but as of today, they still have stores and agents preparing for a Nov. 10 launch.  And for those more interested in some HTC hotness?  The HTC Rezound is still on that same Nov 10 track as well.

That's 20 days and 3 hours (ET) for those keeping score at home.
